At its regular board meeting Tuesday, April 8, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors voted in unanimous support of a property rezone in Arnold, thus paving the way for Little Trees Wellness Collective – a medical marijuana collective operating since last summer – to come into compliance with county code requirements.
Four of the five supes also voted to grant the necessary administrative-use permit needed for the business to operate according to county ordinance. District 5 Supervisor Darren Spellman voted against the move, unhappy that the business is coming into compliance after the fact.
The Planning Department indicated this is not unusual. Many businesses cited for code violations are granted time to take the necessary steps to come into compliance.
