City Council approves first batch-Round 2 MMJ applicants, Job Fair coming this month! – Mojave Desert News

California City- The California City Council approved the first group of the 2nd Round of MMJ applicants as some 22 more Medical Marijuana companies have passed the 80% threshold the City wrote into its ordinance. Each company has to successfully complete 80% of their paperwork-filings, business plans, SDR filings and construction plans, etc. all that must be turned into the City and done correctly for the companies to receive their permits to proceed with their business plans.

The applicants still have to pass the FBI Live Scan background checks, but they have successfully fulfilled all the City’s requirements to proceed here in Cal City. This round saw a lot of familiar faces as many of our own Cal City Residents such as Doug Stafford, DJ Twohig of MyCalcity.org and the Cal City EDC, among them. All the recipients were of course happy to receive the permits that may well make them rich in time. The Council approved the permits 3-0 with Councilman McGuire out due to medical issues and Mayor Pro-Tem Garcia recusing himself based on conflict of interest. Councilmen Parris and Stump along with Mayor Wood carried the motion unanimously.

To that end during the meeting one Cal City resident Mr. Mike Lombard, brought forth some information based on his own research. Mr. Lombard pointed out that on national media, radio talk shows, and in such print publications as the L.A. Times and even High Times MMJ magazine. The statistics according to Mr. Lombard’s research suggest that the state of California has an over-abundance of MMJ already, much more than can be sold at market rate anyway.  That is only being compounded by more and more permitting now happening all over the state. No Marijuana produced in California can be sold outside of the state of California.
