It was all over the news when Aurora decided to allow recreational dispensaries within city limits — but October 1, the date when those dispensaries could theoretically open doors, came and went without a puff of smoke. So what’s the status with these 21 new recreational dispensaries? Here’s what we could find out:

Aurora residents can expect to purchase their first recreational cannabis without having to drive to Denver at Euflora, 6260 South Gun Club Road in Aurora. Staff at the Denver Euflora say they hope the Gun Club Road store will be open on Monday, October 13. Another Euflora license was allotted to a location at 4343 South Buckley Road, Unit E in Aurora, and residents can expect to see the doors open there early next year.

Terrapin Care Station, 11900 East 33rd Avenue, #1 in Aurora, is expected to be the second dispensary to open within city limits, likely by Wednesday, October 15. The dispensary chain (which also has two stores in Boulder) purchased another license for a store at 11091 East Mississippi Avenue in Aurora; it’s shooting to open doors by mid-November.

The folks at Sweet Leaf, which has three Denver locations, are hoping that their store at 15200 East Sixth Avenue in Aurora will be open by November 1.
