Legal cannabis is coming soon. But exactly how still isn’t fully known.

Today, during a special SACPA presentation at noon at the Legion, speaker Mack Andrews will present “How will Retail Legislation for Cannabis (Marijuana) be Rolled out in Alberta?”

Andrews co-founded the Alberta Cannabis Collective, an association for above board cannabis retail in Alberta whose mission is to foster a functional, safe and flourishing cannabis industry.

His main focus is collaboration with future cannabis retailers and all levels of government in Alberta, as the Alberta Cannabis Framework has outlined what Albertans can expect when cannabis becomes legal in Canada this year.

Albertans will have two options for purchasing recreational cannabis: Privately run retail stores and government-operated online sales. The speaker will explain the many regulation scenarios related to retail sales of cannabis in Alberta.

Today’s special SACPA session, which is open to all, runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion (enter through the north door) at 324 Mayor Magrath Dr. S. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with a $14 buffet lunch at 12:30 after the presentation.
