Lomè (Agenzia Fides) – “I was in Tovè in 2005 for a meeting with all the Italian missionary personnel present in Togo, organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies. At that time in the area there was only a small chapel with mats”, writes to Agenzia Fides Father Silvano Galli, priest of the Society of African Missions in Lomé. “Then they paved the road, people started to approach and the church was built. Now it’s a new, growing residential area. At the time, we were in the middle of the woods. Everything has changed and the neighborhood is unrecognizable”, said the missionary after returning from a visit to Tovè, a rural suburb of Lomé, where the SMA province of Togo launched the work of a dispensary in 2020. “The wall part is finished. The finishing touches are missing: the plaster, the furniture, the equipment, then the staff and the electricity. The person in charge of the center will be a nun of Our Lady of the Apostles, and with her, there will be a laboratory technician and a paramedic”, explains Fr.
