WHITMORE LAKE, MI — The WellFlower is poised to become Whitmore Lake’s third recreational marijuana dispensary.
And former Detroit Piston and cannabis advocate John Salley will be on hand Saturday at the opening signing autographs.
The recreational marijuana dispensary at 50 E. North Territorial Rd. is the final marijuana business that has been approved by Northfield Township officials. The other two dispensaries in the area are Planted at 9545 Main St. and Quest Cannabis at 8475 Main St.
Whitmore Lake marks The WellFlower’s third location, with other shops in Ypsilanti and Manistee.
Cousins and co-founders Trent and Dr. Rob McCurren started The WellFlower in 2019. Trent said the company’s approach sets it a apart from other dispensaries.
“We try to create something a little different where it’s comfortable for folks regardless of your level of expertise in cannabis,” he said. “We feel like we’ve … struck the right balance of having some character to our stores so there’s a level of comfort.”
The dispensary will have its grand opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Customers can expect snacks, music, games, cannabis vendors, deals and even an appearance from former Detroit Pistons “Bad Boy”
