Cannabis dispensary plans to open this fall in Woodstock – The Vermont Standard

The owner of Clover Gift Shop in Woodstock Village is planning to open the town’s first cannabis dispensary this fall at the 442 Gallery Place building on Woodstock Road. Patricia Eames’ yet-to-be-named dispensary will feature a manufacturing kitchen, a fulfillment room, a dispensary counter, and 300 square feet of retail space. 

The sale of retail cannabis was passed this March when the Town of Woodstock voted to opt-in. The Village of Woodstock, however, opted out. “I also had mixed feelings about it being approved in the village just because I didn’t really think it necessarily needed to be in the middle of the village, because it’s already so congested,” said Eames. 

Eames said when she began looking for spaces in town, the pickings were slim. “But when [this location] popped up, I was like, ‘Wow. This could really work. That could be a great spot.’” Eames says the former office space is ideal for a cannabis business. “We don’t really have to do much structurally to change the layout of the space, so that was great.”
