Caught on Cam: Looters use SUV to smash into Philly medical marijuana dispensary – NBC 10 Philadelphia

A driver crashes the back of an SUV into the front of a Philadelphia medical marijuana dispensary, pulls out and then completely slams the vehicle into the store before a group of people rush inside.

The Sept. 27 looting was captured on surveillance images outside and inside the Curaleaf dispensary at 5058 City Avenue in the Wynnefield neighborhood, Philadelphia police said.

Police on Wednesday released video showing the SUV smashing the front door of the dispensary. Several people — many masked and some holding bags — can be seen standing by as the SUV takes a second crack at smashing a hole in the place.

“Numerous unknown persons were captured on surveillance video gaining entry” after the crash.

Police didn’t reveal how much weed was grabbed from the dispensary.

Some of the suspects could be seen fleeing in a small silver sedan. At the end of the video released by police a few of the suspects’ faces can be seen.

The looting took place during unrest last month after a Philadelphia judge dismissed murder charges against Mark Dial, a former Philadelphia police officer seen on body-worn camera shooting and killing a driver just seconds after pulling him over. On

Missouri Wild Alchemy, a locally owned dispensary in O’Fallon, is rolling out its first Speakeasy event on October 28 and 29.

The unique event underscores the dispensary’s commitment to the support of small business and homegrown brands in Missouri cannabis, while remaining true to the company’s roots in education and care.

Missouri Wild Alchemy has consistently shown solidarity with small-scale cannabis businesses and brands. Collaborations with licensees, such as Heartland Labs, and shelving both indie or locally owned brands in addition to some of the state’s most popular products and licensed offerings make them a keystone of Missouri’s cannabis landscape.

“We’re all small in our own way, we’re up against this new industry and all the regulations, and the fact that it’s only legal within the state. In the grand scheme of things, we’re all small businesses, we’re all locally working and employing people that live locally, even the bigger cannabis companies in the state. So that’s really why we want to work with everybody. These companies in particular that we’re having at the Speakeasy are people that for the last three years, we’ve been talking to on the phone and trying to work together,”

The video shows the Kia car, which had been reported stolen, plowing into the Curaleaf location at City Avenue and 51st Street twice to help looters get inside the dispensary.

The city is investigating along with several other looting incidents after charges were dropped against ex-Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial.

Police leadership said the looting in multiple Philadelphia neighborhoods was committed by groups of juveniles and was unrelated to peaceful protests after a judge dismissed all charges including a murder count against Mark Dial, the officer who shot and killed Eddie Irizarry in Kensington last month

6 family-owned dispensaries in Michigan and the real stories behind … – The ‘Gander

Few things feel better as a Michigander than spending your dollar at a local store where the owners have put their heart and soul into something special. The same goes for Michigan’s cannabis dispensaries.

MICHIGAN—They may look like ordinary dispensaries from the outside, but behind their walls—and even further, behind the people whose visions took off—are stories of finding hope, connection, and service through their cannabis businesses.

We’re spotlighting six Michigan dispensaries where the stories of inspiration and creativity truly tug at our heartstrings. They are business people with purpose and the kind of passion we love to support.

10147 N Loomis Rd, Clare, MI 48617

One major reason to support family-owned dispensaries is the integrity behind their practices. That’s what you’ll find at The Hempire Collective, whose work is driven by a deeply personal story of seeing firsthand how cannabis could help those suffering from both physical and mental illnesses:

“In 2014, our beloved brother and son, Tai, left the U.S. Army after 10 years of service, and was diagnosed later that year with a rare form of stage 4 kidney cancer,” they share on their website. “After seeing how cannabis helped to alleviate Tai’s pain due to his

Europe’s First Adult-Use Cannabis Dispensaries: Switzerland Greenlights Experimental Sales Project – Benzinga

In a groundbreaking move, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) has granted approval to the Swiss Institute for Addiction and Health Research (ISGF) and the Sanity Group to initiate a pilot study on the controlled dispensing of recreational cannabis in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. This study, named the “Grashaus Projects,” is set to commence later this year, with the primary objective of understanding the implications of regulated cannabis access. Insights derived will inform potential future cannabis regulations in Switzerland.

Sanity Group, a German entity, is the sole non-Swiss company involved in the Swiss pilot projects. It will start the dispensing process through a store in Allschwil, followed by another one in Liestal.

The ISGF-Sanity collaboration received the final nod from the BAG after previously securing the blessings of the Ethics Committee Northwest and Central Switzerland (EKNZ) last year. Prof. Dr. Michael Schaub, the scientific director of the ISGF, will lead the study, which will focus on the regulated sale of cannabis for non-medical use.

The research intends to document consumption patterns and the subsequent physical and mental health impacts on the participants. Additionally, the societal consequences,

The Cannabist Company: From Humble D.C. Beginnings To … – The Dales Report

In Washington, D.C., where the pillars of power and politics cast their long shadows, an unassuming cannabis operator quietly marked its territory. With strict industry regulations and limited scale, it was a risky endeavor, but its founders, fueled by their unwavering belief in the healing potential of cannabis, dared to dream big. With headlines from Capitol Hill dominating the cannabis industry headlines in recent times, The Cannabist Company’s (CBOE:CBST) (OTC:CBST) humble beginnings are a story worth telling.

The Tier-1 operator’s history can be traced back to its inaugural dispensary in The District of Columbia. An investment banker by trade, The Cannabis Company CEO Nicolas Vita forged his own path by taking a chance on a risky and immature industry back in 2012. As a native of Bethesda, Maryland—approximately 7 miles north of Washington D.C.—cutting his teeth in the regulatory capital of the United States made sense, however daunting the experience would become.
