Medical Marihuana in Mexico

Have you ever heard of a Reefer Madness sandwich? That’s the prohibitionist United States of America sandwiched between Canada and Mexico — two of the world’s largest marijuana markets.
While Canada’s program has been baking for a few years now, Mexico’s medical marijuana program is fresh out of the oven. Mexico’s medical marijuana program is actually a few years old already. Back in 2017, former Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto issued a mandate to legalize medical marijuana.
Then it took three years to develop regulations. And that’s only because in 2019, the Mexican Supreme Court ordered the country’s Regulatory Agencies to get off the pot and develop medical marijuana rules. And desert — recreational legalization — is expected to come sometime in mid-2021. Could the U.S. be serving up legal marijuana next?
About Mexico’s Medical Marijuana Program
Recently, Mexico’s health ministry unveiled a regulatory framework for the country’s medical marijuana program. We’re not talking about medical marijuana patients growing their own weed — yet.
Only pharmaceutical companies will be permitted to produce marijuana-derived drugs and cannabis-infused medicines. Out of the gate, the program allows pharmaceutical companies…

How To Keep Marijuana Away From Children

As the prevalence of recreational and medical marijuana has been growing in America so have the number of cases of children being rushed to the emergency room as a result of consuming marijuana — most often because the child believed the medicine was candy.

How to lock down your weed. In this post, we’ll discuss:

  • Some of the ways that parents can keep their kids safely away from their stash.
  • How to tell when they’ve gotten into it.
  • What to do when it happens.

Adults Be Aware…

You might think that keeping children safe from medical marijuana and cannabis-infused products would be a “no-brainer.” However, the number of cases of children (and also pets) who have accidentally consumed medical marijuana is rising fast.

A wave of cannabis policy reform is rolling across America. More than two-thirds of U.S. states now have legalized marijuana in some form for medical use. Also, about one-third of those states have legalized marijuana for adult recreational use. And even in states without legal marijuana, the drug is becoming easier and easier to….

What Is CBD? Where Does CBD Come From?

The origins of CBD have piqued the interest of millions of Americans. There is one glaringly obvious reason that so many people are so interested in the origins of CBD — that is as opposed to more common supplements such as, say, Vitamin E.

The extreme interest in CBD can be attributed to the fact that it is widely known that CBD is derived from cannabis, the very same plant used to produce medical and recreational marijuana.

What Is Cannabis?

Cannabis is a highly controversial and widely misunderstood plant with a dubious history in America. Up until recently when the debate over legalization began to heat up in earnest, most Americans considered cannabis and marijuana to be the same thing. However, marijuana is only one product of thousands that can be produced from the cannabis plant.

For this article, there’s no need to get into a lot of biological and botanical jargon. Let it suffice to say that cannabis is an ancient crop that has been cultivated by humans for eons both for medicinal and industrial purposes. In fact, cannabis is one of the most versatile plants ever cultivated by man. Depending on how…..

Support Marijuana Reciprocity in Florida

Reciprocity is the act of allowing out-of-state medical marijuana patients to shop at Florida dispensaries while at the same time enabling Florida’s medical marijuana patients to get the medicine they need in some of the 30-plus states that offer medical marijuana.

Reciprocity is the most logical next step for Florida’s medical marijuana program.

There are two reasons why this is an idea whose time has come. First, reciprocity extends compassion to visitors in the Sunshine State and Florida residents traveling to other states. Second, it would bring millions of dollars of revenue into the state, not only putting millions in additional tax revenue into state coffers but also bolstering the state’s tourism industry.

2022 Mississippi Medical Marijuana Legalization Update

The decision came after one year of deliberation when the policy was resoundingly voter-approved at the ballot. The initiative was then ruled invalid by the Supreme Court for procedural reasons. This move was countered by lawmakers who subsequently placed it in the hands of the legislation.

The governor was vocal in his support of medical marijuana when he stated that  “no doubt that there are individuals in our state who could do significantly better if they had access to medically prescribed doses of cannabis.”

However, Gov. Reeves seems to draw the line when considering a recreational cannabis program and shared his concerns when he claimed that a recreational marijuana program “could lead to more people smoking and fewer people working, with all of the societal and family ills that that brings.”

As we explained earlier in the year, Reeves balked at the projected purchase limits included in earlier iterations and even threatened to veto the measure. The bill was amended and cleared by both chambers and was ultimately signed by the….

Originally, only patients with intractable epilepsy qualified for a Texas medical marijuana card. However, in June of 2019, all forms of muscular dystrophy and several other medical conditions were added to the list of qualifying conditions.

Other conditions added at that time include all seizure disordersautismmultiple sclerosis (MS)spasticityamyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE),  cancerAlzheimer’sParkinson’s, and Huntington’s diseases.

How To Use Cannabis Tinctures

Cannabis tinctures are the topic of today’s post. We’ll cover the different types of tinctures that are available, their benefits, and how they are applied.

Smoking marijuana and vaping cannabis-infused oils are currently the most common ways consumers ingest marijuana. However, smoking and vaping can be hazardous to lung health, as well as inconvenient and indiscreet, making these delivery methods a non-option for many medical marijuana patients. Tinctures are oftentimes a better choice.

Because manufacturers often use an alcohol solvent to extract cannabinoids and the final product comes in an alcohol base, tinctures have been called the “moonshine of marijuana.”

Interestingly, prior to 1937 when hemp and marijuana were banned in the U.S., tinctures were the most widely used of all forms of cannabis medicine. Before the turn of the 20th century, cannabis tinctures were regularly used in the British Royal Court. In fact, Queen Victoria was prescribed a cannabis tincture for menstrual cramps. The Queen’s physician extolled the virtues of this concoction and stated “When pure and administered carefully, [cannabis] is one of the most valuable medicines we possess.”

Let’s take a look at what tinctures are, how they work, and the different types available….

New Bill Aims To Federally Legalize Marijuana

  • A Republican congresswoman has filed a bill to legalize marijuana at the federal level.
  • The move may mark the end of the partisan politics that have held back the federal legalization of marijuana.
  • The comprehensive bill would remove marijuana from the DEA’s list of controlled substances and impose a three percent excise tax on all cannabis products.
  •  The bill would also expunge criminal records for anyone who has been convicted of certain non-violent cannabis offenses

Here are some of the provisions in the proposal to federally legalize marijuana:

  • The States Reform Act aims to regulate marijuana similarly to the federal regulation of alcohol and puts cannabis regulatory responsibility in the hands of individual states. No state or local laws would be required to change.
  • Most importantly, the bill would remove marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act effectively legalizing all forms of cannabis and its derivatives.
  • A national age limit of 21 would be set for the sale and possession of recreational marijuana and cannabis-infused products. The limit would not apply to state-approved medical marijuana cardholders.
  • All references to “marijuana” or “marihuana” in federal laws and….

What Is Hashish

The word “hashish” has its roots in the Arabic language and roughly translates to mean “grass.” Hashish use was first documented around AD 900, although some historians believe it existed long before that time. Hash was smoked for centuries for recreational use and also used in medical marijuana applications in countries such as Lebanon, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Morocco, and Pakistan.

Interestingly, French Emperor Napoleon and his army encountered hashish after their invasion of Egypt and introduced it to western culture. In the years following its introduction, the European medical community used hashish extensively for research purposes. This research ultimately led to highly innovative extraction methods and the refinement of cannabis-infused products.

Today’s hashish offers extremely high potency in the range of 30 to 60 percent cannabinoids. Depending on the strain of cannabis, hashish can be produced that is high in THC or CBD or a combination of both. CBG and delta-8 THC-infused hash is also available.

Hash also offers high levels of terpenes, the aromatic essential oils found in…Read Full Article Here
