LAS CRUCES – Crowds were disappointed Thursday in front of PurLife Dispensary as they were notified Cheech Marín and Tommy Chong’s appearance was postponed.
Telshor Towers was packed with lines looping toward Hotel Encanto May 19. People from Las Cruces, El Paso, Alamogordo and other surrounding areas had made their way to the dispensary for a chance to meet and take pictures with the famous Cheech & Chong duo.
The two were scheduled to appear in Las Cruces for the unveiling of their cannabis brand’s products at the New Mexico dispensary.
Jon Wood, regional manager for PurLife, said there were logistical issues that prevented Marín and Chong from attending. However, the business still debuted the new products and handed out Cheech and Chong T-shirts to fans.
PurLife now carries products from Cheech & Chong’s Cannabis Company as well as their individual brands, Chong’s Cannabis and Cheech’s Stash. Items include cannabis buds, three and a half gram containers and prerolled joints. The dispensary held a 20% off sale for the merchandise Thursday for customers who chose to continue waiting in line.
