Clinton mayor reports request to open cannabis dispensary – New Jersey Hills

CLINTON – Mayor Janice Kovach has notified residents on the town website that the town will hear interest about a potential cannabis dispensary at 7:30 p.m. at its Wednesday, March 9, meeting at the 43 Leigh St. municipal building.

“The town was approached by a Hunterdon County resident who is interested in opening a local cannabis dispensary,” Mayor Kovach said. “He has identified Clinton as a potential location.

“As a reminder the town has opted out of all licenses so in order for this to move forward the town would have to amend its cannabis ordinance. No action will be taken at this meeting. I have invited (Mihir Patel) to attend our council meeting on Wednesday, March 9, to present his business plan to council.”

“I am sending (this) out so that residents also have the opportunity to share thoughts. Again, this is not a public hearing and no ordinances will be amended or action taken. As always feel free to reach out to me at (908) 399-8921 or email jkovach@clintonnj.gov.”

The meeting will be in person and virtual via Zoom. The link to the meeting will be posted at clintonnj.gov for anyone cannot or prefers to not attend
