MONSON — The Magic Lantern’s parking lot sign touting “Exotic Dancers Lounge” and “Topless” in neon over Route 20 might be getting an encore with Dazed Cannabis.

Dazed, with a location in Holyoke, plans to open an adult-use retail shop at the Magic Lantern, 399 Wilbraham St., in the fall. The Magic Lantern closed about a year ago.

“Dazed will be retaining the sign and may use it in some shape, form or fashion. We are excited to continue to move forward on our second location in Western Mass.” said Ryan McCollum, a consultant and spokesman for Dazed Cannabis.

There is no definite plan for the sign yet and McCallum couldn’t say if it fits into Dazed décor.

“We might see some value in it,” he said. “But we also may not. We’re kicking things around,”

The Magic Lantern opened in the 1960s and everyone from New England Patriots to comedian Rodney Dangerfield and the Stanley Cup has gotten a photo with the sign.

Brunelle put the sign up for sale for $20,000 on Facebook marketplace Wednesday as he liquidates the club.
