Dispensary approved, search is on for a license – RobLaw News

A plan is in place for obtaining a license for the recently approved dispensary, to be named Leaf’s Relief, in Palestine.

Co-owners Eric Erickson and Cliff McBenge are asking the public’s help to find 50 applicants they can sponsor to be placed in the social equity lottery with the state, in order to obtain the license.

Criteria for the license through the lottery includes the applicants to have been arrested for, convicted of or adjudicated delinquent for cannabis related offenses eligible for expungement, including cannabis possession up to 500 grams or intent to deliver up to 30 grams.

The applicant can also qualify by having an immediate family member who has been arrested for, convicted of or adjudicated delinquent for the cannabis related offenses.

The State of Illinois will issue dispensary licenses to people who live in disproportionate impacted area, which according to the map on the state’s website, which includes part of Robinson, in five of the past 10 years. The entire area south of Main St., in Robinson city limits, is included in the map.
