P.R. Medical Cannabis Regulatory Board Stopped the Issuance of Licenses as a Preventive Measure
The Association of Members of the Medicinal Cannabis Industry (MICaM) applauded the determination this week of the Medicinal Cannabis Regulatory Board (JRCM), the body that regulates the marijuana industry in Puerto Rico, to establish a moratorium on the call for licenses for medical cannabis dispensaries for a period of 120 days, while the government entity conducts a market study as
stipulated in its own regulations.
The JRCM body issued a circular letter last week ordering the 120-day suspension of the granting of licenses for medical cannabis dispensaries, however, it did not stop the calls for cultivation and manufacturing licenses, which remain open.
