EDWARDSVILLE — Locals who are 21 and older looking to buy recreational cannabis products in town will have to wait at least another two weeks.
Jeff Rehberger, Cloud9Cannabis owner and president, said the shop’s opening has been delayed until April due to issues with building contractors. It will be located at the building at 2341 Plum St., which also houses First to the Finish Line in Edwardsville,
He confirmed the site, which he called the company’s flagship store, will offer 4,800 square feet when complete and that he took advantage of a downsizing when First to the Finish reduced its footprint next door.
“I grew up in Highland and after I got my business license for a [dispensary], I knew Edwardsville would be the best spot to place one,” he said.
After he viewed the local zoning map for dispensaries, he decided that Plum Street was the best location in town for it. He said there will be a wide variety of traditional marijuana, edibles and a full array of different types of products.
This store is one of five that Rehberger has planned. There will be a soft opening at the Champaign location on March 24 and Edwardsville
