Elk Grove Village’s first recreational marijuana dispensary, Snap Canna, is expected to open at 840 E. Higgins Rd., across from the Elk Grove Technology Park, next month. A grand opening is tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 17.
Company and village officials say Snap Canna has undergone an intensive state licensing and permitting process for their 7,700-square-foot facility, which is nearly complete. The business was awarded a conditional state license for the Elk Grove Village location in April, which allowed it to build out the Higgins Road location. The final license issuance is pending final inspection of the space by state regulators.
Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson said the village is expected to quickly grant Snap Canna a dispensary license as soon as the final state permits are issued.
Snap Canna is hiring “budtenders” and store managers. Company spokesman Andrew Cordes said the Elk Grove location would hire between 25 and 35 staff and is looking for local applicants. Applications
