Geneva welcomes first legal marijuana dispensary this weekend – FingerLakes1.com

Geneva is set to welcome its first legal marijuana dispensary, “High Points,” this Saturday, marking a new chapter in New York State’s burgeoning cannabis industry.

High Points will provide legal recreational marijuana products to residents and visitors alike.

The opening of this dispensary comes after recreational marijuana use was legalized in New York State back in 2021.

The region had seen a delay in the issuance of licenses due to a legal dispute which stalled the process. However, the resolution of the lawsuit this past summer has cleared the way for the Finger Lakes area to proceed with its licensing, resulting in several approved dispensaries including “High Points”.

The arrival of “High Points” follows the trend of licensed cannabis shops popping up across the state, including locations in Ithaca and Victor.

Additionally, the Cayuga Indian Nation has been operating its own marijuana sales in nearby towns. The opening of the Geneva dispensary is expected to be a significant addition to the local market, providing regulated and safe access to cannabis products.
