Gunman fires shots at disabled veteran’s car following altercation at dispensary in Waukegan – Lake and McHenry County Scanner

A man reportedly fired shots at a disabled veteran’s vehicle after an altercation at a marijuana dispensary in Waukegan earlier this month.

The Waukegan Police Department responded at around 10 a.m. on March 8 to the area of Fountain Square Place and Northpoint Boulevard in Waukegan for shots fired.

Officers arrived and learned that the offender was involved in a verbal argument with a subject in front of Ivy Hall Dispensary, located nearby at 996 South Waukegan Road, according to a police report.

During the argument, the offender displayed a Glock 19 handgun and began to walk toward the subject, who was standing in front of the dispensary.

The dispensary’s security guard told the staff to hit the panic alarm, which caused both subjects in the altercation to get in their vehicles and leave the immediate area, the report said.

When both vehicles were in the area of SpringHill Suites at Fountain Square Place and Northpoint Boulevard, the offender shot at the other subject’s vehicle and then fled the area.

Police recovered two 9mm shell casings in the roadway.
