CANNABIS CULTURE – I lost my mom to breast cancer, so in a way I had been waiting my entire life to be diagnosed. When it happened in the summer of 2012, I was the same age that my mother had been when she passed away and while I was devastated, I was also prepared.
In selecting my course of treatment, I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy followed by tissue expanders and implants. I have gone through multiple surgeries since then to relieve my chest pain, which has included changing out my implants and removing any breast tissue that remained.
Aware of the addiction risks associated with using opioids, I didn’t want to continue taking my prescribed medications and asked my doctor about other treatment options.
