Lake Placid creates legal pathway for cannabis dispensaries – North Country Public Radio

Tuesday night, the Lake Placid village board unanimously approved a suite of amendments to its land use code.

They include new guidelines for opening cannabis dispensary and tobacco shops, and create a standardized, more straightforward pathway for applicants hoping to open a dispensary, similar to how one would apply to open a new motel or church.

There are currently 48 licensed cannabis dispensaries in state. There is just one in the Tri-Lakes area, Elevate ADK. 

The Lake Placid town board says it will adopt the same guidelines that the village board just passed.
