GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — The majority owner of a planned medical marijuana dispensary says the business will have safeguards to prevent cannabis products from getting into the hands of people who are not authorized to buy them.
Luke J. Marino also believes his Ratio Cannabis LLC will not cause crime after opening at 1145 W. High Ave.
He said the opening of the dispensary will be a non-event for most people, but will be a “big help” to those from Tuscarawas, Holmes, Guernsey, Harrison and Carroll counties who currently need to travel long distances.
Marino, who now lives in Goshen Township, said the Ohio Board of Pharmacy requires the use of a system to track all medical cannabis from the time it becomes a plant with roots through sale to holders of physician-issued medical marijuana cards. Biomass waste must be recorded, he said, and products that fail quality control tests must be quarantined or destroyed.
