Medical Marijuana Dispensary Express Interest in Locating to Logan County –

During the Logan County Mayor’s Association meeting last night, West Liberty Mayor Jill McKelvey announced she was contacted in regards to a medical marijuana dispensary company wanting to locate there.

As soon as the announcement was made, the Russells Point mayor indicated the same.

Mayor McKelvey said a committee will be formed to explore the issue further and look into zoning codes. Legal counsel has been requested to look into the matter.

Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries are open to help medical marijuana card patients throughout the state. There are over 50 dispensaries licensed to operate in Ohio. The state recently gave the runway to triple the number of cannabis stores in the state.

To qualify to possess a medical marijuana card, a patient must have a diagnosis of the following condition by a physician:

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy
Crohn’s Disease
Epilepsy or another seizure disorder
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Parkinson’s Disease
HIV positive

Sickle Cell Anemia
Spinal Cord Disease
Tourette Syndrome
Traumatic brain injury
Ulcerative Colitis

Qualified patients with a medical card are allowed to purchase up to a 90-day supply of medicine. However, only certain forms of cannabis are allowed under the rules.
