BRAINTREE, MA — A marijuana company will make a second pitch to Braintree residents to open a medical dispensary in town.
Native Sun Wellness proposed opening the dispensary at 120 Granite St., where Pier 1 Imports used to be. The company also operates a recreational cannabis dispensary in Hudson and another that will open in North Attleboro. Representatives from the company met presented their plans to town officials and residents last month. On Wednesday, they’ll hold another public forum at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Town Hall.
At the last meeting, representatives from Native Sun Wellness told residents half the building will be used for retail, while the other half is for cannabis cultivation. Company officials also said the dispensary will pay Braintree 3 percent of its gross revenues.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the company will also discuss the dispensary’s security, how minors will be protected and ensuring the store won’t be a nuisance to the neighborhood. Company officials said they’ll also present how the dispensary will make a positive impact on the Braintree community.
Representatives will also answer questions from residents. They can be submitted to email@example.com.
For those that can’t make the meeting, there will be a virtual forum. Residents can register for the virtual
