New Marijuana Dispensary Is Coming To North Brunswick: Report – Patch

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ —A new marijuana dispensary will be opening soon in North Brunswick, according to a news report.

The Township’s Zoning Board approved an application by Garden State Botanicals, LLC to open a dispensary on Route 1, according to MyCentralJersey.

Garden State Botanicals will convert a 2,400-square-foot space at 1345 Route 1 South shopping center, according to the application.

The dispensary will be at the North Oaks Plaza and is expected to be located between WindowRama and Dunkin’.

Last year, North Brunswick adopted an ordinance allowing the sale of recreational cannabis in the township. The ordinance established the Cannabis Route 1 Corridor Overlay Zone in the township.

In this zone, Class 5 retail and Class 6 delivery cannabis establishments are allowed to operate, without cannabis consumption areas.

Cannabis establishments are not permitted within 500 feet of any primary or secondary educational institution, house of worship, or park or playground.

Much like South Brunswick, Princeton decided to revisit the issue sometime in the future.
