NJ Now Has 100 Weed Dispensaries (Heres Where To Find Them) – Patch

NEW JERSEY — The legal marijuana industry continues to grow by leaps and bounds in New Jersey, with more than 100 cannabis dispensaries now open for business in the Garden State, state officials reported Wednesday.

When New Jersey legalized recreational cannabis in 2021, there were just 12 medical dispensaries in the state. Now – only three years later – there are a combined 102 medical and recreational dispensaries, according to the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJCRC).

The state’s law temporarily allowed local towns and cities to roll out local bans on cannabis businesses, which more than 60 percent of them did. See Related: Marijuana Is Legal In NJ. But Can Towns Still Ban It?

Meanwhile, sales totals continue to rise, state officials say.
