Oregrown staff enjoying Chico vibe – Chico Enterprise-Record

CHICO — Chico’s new cannabis dispensary, Oregrown, had its grand opening Friday with a ribbon cutting and social event with the owners and city employees and the press.

“It’s exciting when a new business opens,” said city of Chico management analyst Hope Ithurburn. “The location is great. Oregrown has a great opportunity. We look forward to seeing what they do.”

The dispensary is slated to open next week. Currently the owners have 30 employees on staff and plan to hire a few other people.

Oregrown has six owners. Aaron Elston, one of the owners, was all smiles talking about the dispensary.

“We have a commitment to quality,” Elston said. “We have a unique approach to customers with a one on one approach.”

Elston said employees are treated well and the staff aims to inform cannabis shoppers.

“Education is one of our core values,” he said. “And our employees have a life and work balance.”

Elston has been with the company for seven years, which is based in Bend, Oregon.
