‘Farmacy Berkeley’ introduces senior citizens to the benefits of cannabis – WPVI-TV

BERKELEY, Calif. — “What’s wrong with just feeling good?” Asks Sue Taylor, “I naturally feel good.”

And if you ask Taylor how she’s feeling, she’ll likely say…

“Oh, I’m incredibly well.”

And her mission is to make sure as many people around her age can say the same thing.

“This is what 76 looks like, woohoo!” says Taylor.

She’s doing that here, at Farmacy Berkeley, the cannabis dispensary she co-founded, celebrating 4 years in business.

“This has really been a dream come true,” says Taylor, “servicing the community, servicing seniors.

A former Catholic school principal in Oakland, Sue never imagined she’d be serving seniors like this…until a lifelong friend passed away from cancer.

“I feel some kind of way in my heart that I didn’t serve as a well because my mindset wasn’t on cannabis,” says Taylor. “Because I was secretly afraid of it because of the reefer madness that was instilled in me as I was growing up.”

When Sue saw the impact cannabis made in the lives of seniors, she pivoted. She began working with seniors and her family, investing their own money, including her entire retirement, to open a dispensary.

“It took us eight years before we could get that permit,” she says. “No, no, it was

JARS opens Chesterfield Township’s first licensed cannabis dispensary – The Macomb Daily

Six years after Michigan residents voted to legalize recreational cannabis, Chesterfield Township this week opened its first pot retail store.

JARS Cannabis on Monday officially opened the township’s first recreational cannabis dispensary, marking the Troy-based company’s 21st location in Michigan. Business was reportedly strong despite a lack of grand opening marketing hype.

Chesterfield’s cannabis retail outlet is located in a 3,100-square-foot facility on Gratiot Avenue, just north of 23 Mile Road. Before that, the site sat vacant.

“The historic opening of Jars Cannabis in Chesterfield Township is a reflection of the community’s trust and our commitment to delivering a one-of-a-kind cannabis experience,” said Jars Cannabis COO, Raymond Abro.

Abro extended the company’s thanks to Chesterfield Township Supervisor Brad Kersten, Clerk Cindy Berry, , and Trustee David Joseph for “their dedicated efforts” in securing the community’s first recreational cannabis license. He added that he looks forward to becoming an integral part of the township.

The Michigan marijuana industry reported $3 billion in total sales in 2023, according to the state’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency. That puts the Great Lakes in second place among the largest cannabis markets in the nation, after California, according to the state’s Department of Tax and Fee Administration.

Hoboken council to vote on if cannabis dispensaries can be within 200 feet of schools – Hudson County View

The Hoboken City Council is poised to vote on the first reading of an ordinance to decide if cannabis dispensaries can be located within 200 feet of schools, as opposed to the current 600 feet, with at least two council members adamantly opposed.

The local legislation, sponsored by 5th Ward Councilman Phil Cohen and Councilman-at-Large Joe Quintero, says that the governing body wants their cannabis regulations more in line with New Jersey’s alcohol regulations.

“The Hoboken City Council seeks to align its Cannabis regulations more closely with NJ alcohol requirements; therefore, bringing local requirements more into conformity with the intent of the CREAMM Act,” the ordinance states.

” … Hoboken has made it clear that it wants cannabis retailers to operate here to (1) serve the needs of adult use customers, (2) reduce or eliminate the black-market sales, and (3) increase revenue to the city.”

An opposing resolution, sponsored by 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher and Council President Jen Giattino, says this would go against the cannabis regulations of at least 21 other states.

Best Colorado Rosin, Flower and Edibles in Dispensaries This Winter – Westword

Thanks to restrictive production laws and competitive paranoia, we don’t often see cannabis businesses working with each other. Sure, a grower might send material to a hash lab for processing, but it’s rare to come across strains, extractions or edibles made in true partnerships on the licensed market.

Times are changing as Colorado moves into a second decade of recreational pot sales, however, and cannabis brands are finally working together. Over the past few weeks alone, I’ve seen two top rosin brands mix their products together, as well as a breeding and growing partnership bear delicious flower. Not only that, but one licensed and respected breeder has expanded its clone and seed offerings into dozens of Denver dispensaries, allowing you to become a cannabis collaborator as well.

Cold Cure and Jam Rosin Combos
Putting cold-cure rosin and rosin jam together in the same jar is gaining steam among extractors. I’ve seen them called geodes and thumbprints, and there are probably more names in the pipeline. Basically a pool of terpene-rich rosin jam placed inside of a small pressed bucket of cold-cure rosin, these mixtures provide more depth and flavor than your standard rosin dab.

Colorado hash-makers Malek’s Melts and Mountain Select are both
