Ivy Hall, Logan Square’s 3rd Dispensary, Is Now Open – Block Club Chicago

LOGAN SQUARE — The third dispensary for Logan Square and Humboldt Park neighbors is now open.

Ivy Hall, one of the first recreational cannabis dispensaries to receive a social equity license from the state, opened its second Chicago store at 3115 W. Armitage Ave. last week after remodeling an old laundromat.

Store officials, the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce and Ald. Jessie Fuentes (26th) gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the business Tuesday morning.

“Ivy Hall is excited to expand to their eighth location and service the Logan Square and Humboldt Park areas, the latter of which has no dispensaries,” officials said in a press release.

The shop passed its state inspection early last week after completing interior renovation this month, officials said.

“This isn’t just about a new storefront; it’s about investing in our local economy, stimulating business corridors, hiring local and destigmatizing cannabis use,” Fuentes said in a social media post.

Medical marijuana dispensaries in Virginia, Shenandoah Valley – The News Leader

Medical cannabis patients in the Shenandoah Valley and northwest Virginia have been underserved for years. It looks like this is going to change.

On Jan. 1, the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority (CCA) assumed regulatory oversight of Virginia’s medical cannabis program from the state’s board of pharmacy. In doing so, the CCA is making Health Service Area 1, which includes the Shenandoah Valley, a priority.

“This area has been underserved for too long because litigation tied up the operation of the license there for several years,” said Jeremy Preiss, acting head and chief officer of regulatory, policy, and external affairs. “The litigation has concluded, and we will prioritize addressing that gap in the medical cannabis program.”

‘We’re putting out a reward’: Centerville business owner wants justice after dispensary was burglarized – 13WMAZ.com

Rowe’s CBD and THC Dispensary is offering a reward for information leading to arrests after people broke in and stole popular products.

CENTERVILLE, Ga. — Rowe’s CBD and THC Dispensary lost thousands of dollars in product after a Jan. 15 break-in. Austin Rowe is the store’s owner; he says the burglary made this week’s operation more difficult.

“It was rough at first especially, you know, with wood on the door people don’t know if we’re even open,” Rowe said.

Last Monday, two people broke into the dispensary and stole popular products. Rowe said he was disappointed that someone would target a small business.

“You know it hurt because you know we’re not a big corporate business. We’re just right here this is it. This is us,” Rowe said.

In 2020, a similar attack happened but the register was the target. Rowe said he wants to offer a reward this time to get these people off the streets.

“We will be proactive at you know preventing this going forward and we want to bring those people to justice, so that way they don’t do this again to us or to some

Issuing of new cannabis retail dispensary licenses, home-growing rules delayed – News10NBC

ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York State Office of Cannabis Management canceled its monthly meeting, delaying the issuing of new retail dispensary licenses.

The board says the decision was made to allow more time to “process the major backlog of applications” after months of licenses being held up by lawsuits.

The cancellation will also push back proposals on home-grow rules.

According to the OCM, officials were supposed to issue regulations for home-grow cannabis rules “no later” than Sept. 30, 2021.

Mississippi restrictions on medical marijuana advertising upheld by federal judge – ABC News

JACKSON, Miss. — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the owner of a medical marijuana dispensary who sued Mississippi over state regulations that he says censor business owners by preventing them from advertising in most media.

In a Monday ruling, U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills said he agreed with Mississippi’s argument that since the possession of marijuana remains illegal under federal law, it is not a “lawful activity,” and therefore does not enjoy the constitutional protections granted to some forms of commercial speech.

After Mississippi legalized medical marijuana for people with debilitating conditions in 2022, Clarence Cocroft II opened Tru Source Medical Cannabis in Olive Branch, Mississippi. But he says he has struggled to reach customers because the state has banned medical marijuana businesses from advertising in any media.

Mills said unraveling Mississippi’s restrictions on marijuana advertising would be a “drastic intrusion upon state sovereignty.”

“This is particularly true considering the fact that, by legalizing marijuana to any degree, the Mississippi Legislature has gone further than Congress itself has been willing to go,” Mills wrote. “In light of this fact, on what basis would a federal court tell the Mississippi Legislature that it was not entitled to
