MariMed closes acquisition of Thrive Dispensary in Casey, the company’s fifth Illinois dispensary – Greenway

MariMed Inc. (“MariMed”) (CSE: MRMD) (OTCQX: MRMD), a leading multi-state cannabis operator focused on improving lives every day, today announced the closing of its acquisition of Allgreens Dispensary, LLC on April 9, 2024. The approval of the license transfer by the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, and subsequent closing of the acquisition, allows MariMed to fully consolidate the financial results of the Company’s Thrive-branded dispensary in Casey, Illinois, which had previously been operated under a Managed Services Agreement.

Thrive Casey is the only dispensary in Clark County, Illinois, 30 miles west of Terre Haute, Indiana. Thrive Casey is located at 912 N. State Highway 49, near the intersection of state Highway 49 and U.S. Interstate 70. The dispensary should benefit from attracting the thousands of tourists who annually visit Casey to see the 30 “World’s Largest” and “Big Things” on display throughout the city. They include the World’s Largest Rocking Chair and Mailbox.

The Company continues to look for additional retail locations in Illinois, where adult-use cannabis sales exceeded $1.6 billion last year. Current Illinois cannabis regulations allow an operator to own up to 10 dispensaries. MariMed also recently became vertical in Illinois, opening a craft grow and processing facility in Mt.

B-Real from ‘Cypress Hill’ has grand opening of new dispensary in Tower District Fresno – KMPH Fox 26

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — B-Real, one of the two main rappers in the platinum music group ‘Cypress Hill’, opened his brand-new dispensary Saturday morning in Fresno.

The new marijuana dispensary is located in the Tower District of Fresno, and there was a line around the building for people wanting to be some of the first customers to visit the store.

It’s been exciting, and to see everybody come out, it’s been amazing.

Cypress Hill was formed in 1988 out of South Gate, California. They were the first Latino American hip-hop group to go platinum and multi-platinum.

California is our home state, so it’s like our backyard.

While guests were waiting for the ribbon cutting to begin, they were able to enjoy a car show, merchandise booths, and even live glass-blowing demonstrations.

Once B-Real officially opened the store with the ribbon-cutting, the store was flooded with guests eager to meet the rapper and try his new branded products, as well as other selections available at the dispensary.

B-Real met fans and signed autographs as he mingled with residents.

When asked why he chose Fresno for his next location, B-Real explained,

Fresno’s always been one of the places that we wanted to open up because we knew we had a big

Stamford BBQ Restaurant Could Be Converted Into A Cannabis Dispensary – Patch

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Planning Board on April 9 recommended a special permit request from Nautilus Botanicals to open a hybrid cannabis dispensary at 1308 E. Main St., the site of The Boatyard BBQ & Grill.

Next up, the city’s zoning board will hold a public hearing on the application, according to Planning Board Chair Theresa Dell.

Nautilus Botanicals had proposed a different location for a dispensary in Stamford several months ago at 110 E. Main St., the former site of the drive-through grocery store The Barn. The proposal was denied by the Stamford Zoning Board due to parking issues.

The current site has more parking than is required by zoning regulations, and the planning board expressed support for the new location at 1308 E. Main St.

Nautilus Botanicals is the contract purchaser of the property.

“I like this location much better than the last one. I like the parking especially. That was one of our problems in the last one. I think it’s far back on the property that when people come in there will be sufficient parking,” Dell

Atlantic City cannabis dispensary a 1st in more ways than 1 – Press of Atlantic City

Selena Vazquez

ATLANTIC CITY — City native and Army veteran Ed Wilson says he is opening the city and state’s first 100% Black-owned, veteran-owned cannabis dispensary, Bakin’ Bad, on April 20.

The site at 2834 Atlantic Ave. took Wilson, who also coaches football and owns another Atlantic City business called Swapz AC, a little over two years to open after all the proper permitting and inspections were done.

“So we were thinking about names, and I didn’t want to get too far away from bakery. Then somebody said, ‘I want to be like Heisenberg, just the legal version,'” Wilson, 37, said Tuesday as he unveiled Bakin’ Bad for the first time to the public and members of the cannabis industry. “One of my partners said Bakin’ Bad instead of ‘Breaking Bad,’ and we just had an a-ha, eureka moment. We all agreed at that time that this is the one. That’s the name.”

Wilson served 12 years as an Army medic, with 51 months of combat time in Afghanistan and Iraq, and retired as a disabled veteran. Afterward he opened a shoe and clothing boutique called Swapz in Washington, D.C., in 2015.

Alton Dispensary opening dependent on Alton City Code change – Alton Telegraph

ALTON – Alton City Council aldermen laid over a motion to amend Title 4, Chapter 24 of the Alton City Code regarding cannabis dispensaries on Monday.

This decision may delay the opening of Alton Dispensary, owned by IllinoisCannabis49, at 3401 E. Broadway

The amendment was regarding the cannabis zoning map. The City Code currently splits Alton into two zones, Zone 1 in the north and Zone 2 in the south. This allows each zone to have one active dispensary at a time.

The proposed amendment to the City Code would allow the Alton Dispensary to become a part of Zone 1, allowing both businesses to exist at the same time.

“What this is going to do is one: add competition to an area that I think was not initially intended, but two, it’s going to make the entire northern portion of Zone 1 unusable for any other dispensary,” Little said.

The Alton Dispensary was originally located at 1400 E. Broadway, the same building Terrace currently occupies. When the Alton Dispensary first opened in May 2023, it was managed by Subsero Alton Ops, LLC.

In October 2023, the Alton Dispensary filed a lawsuit against

Ohio: Adult-Use Marijuana Sales Anticipated To Begin Ahead of Schedule – Norml

State regulators are finalizing plans to expedite marijuana sales to adults.

Under the plan, existing medical dispensaries will receive dual licensing to sell cannabis to adults by mid-June — months ahead of schedule. (State lawmakers approved medical cannabis access in 2016.)

“The sooner consumers have market access to cannabis products, the more quickly we will begin to see disruptions to the unregulated marketplace,” NORML’s Deputy Director Paul Armentano said. “Retailers provide consumers with the option of obtaining lab-tested products in a safe, regulated environment.”

Adult-use marijuana sales will be subject to a ten percent excise tax in addition to an existing 5.75 percent sales tax. Sales are anticipated to generate between $276.2 million to $403.6 million in annual cannabis tax dollars within five years.

Voters in November approved a citizens’ initiated measure (Issue 2) legalizing the possession, home cultivation, and retail sale of cannabis for those age 21 or older. Provisions in the initiative’s called upon regulators to begin issuing retail licenses by late 2024.

Following the vote, several of the state’s leading Republicans moved to pass legislation gutting many of the initiative’s key provisions. Those efforts stalled after NORML and others generated thousands of communications urging legislators to enact
