Cypress Hill’s B Real opening his own dispensary in Fresno – Yahoo Entertainment

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Cyprus Hill’s B Real is bringing his own brand of marijuana dispensary to Fresno, a city he describes as “a very tight-knit place” and “very California.”

Dr. Greenthumb’s dispensary will be hosting its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, April 6, featuring the Cypress Hill frontman himself. B Real first launched his line of Dr. Greenthumb’s branded products in 2018.

His most recent expansion with his brand has led to the opening of the location, which will be in Fresno’s Tower District on Wishon and Fern Avenues. B Real says the feeling of opening up his new location is a lot like putting out an album.

“You spend all this time working on it and put it out into the world and you don’t know what kind of impact it might have,” B Real said.

Though his Fresno store is not his first dispensary, B Real says there is something special about the new location thanks to the energy of the people of Fresno.

“I’m excited to go up there.”

B Real says the grand opening will feature a meet and greet with him, and he plans to release a new exclusive strain of flower, specific to the Fresno store.

Medical marijuana dispensary to open on 4/20 with North Carolina bill still pending – WGHP FOX8 Greensboro

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A marijuana dispensary will open in western North Carolina on April 20, just days before the North Carolina General Assembly reconvenes, with a bill to legalize medical marijuana statewide still pending.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Cannabis Control Board says it has received applications from more than 1,000 people for medical cards in order to purchase marijuana at the Great Smoky Cannabis Company. It remains illegal to use it off tribal land.

“This is a momentous occasion. And, it means so much not just for myself but for other patients in North Carolina,” said Chris Suttle, an advocate for marijuana legalization who spoke to CBS 17 as he traveled to obtain a medical card.

Even though the EBCI held a referendum last year showing there was majority support for allowing recreational marijuana sales, for now it will be restricted to medical cannabis.

Republican U.S. Sens. Thom Tillis and Ted Budd recently wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland raising a variety of concerns about the situation. Among them, they asked about the legality of Qualla Enterprise LLC transporting marijuana potentially on state roads from where it’s grown to where it will be sold,

Evergreen Park Sets Public Hearing For Marijuana Dispensary – Patch

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Village of Evergreen Park will hold a public hearing to consider a pitch for a proposed marijuana dispensary. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 15 during village trustees regular board meeting.

The 1937 Group, a minority owned business headquartered in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, has submitted an application to open a dispensary in the former Scott Credit Union at 9122 S. Kedzie Ave.

The company participates in the state’s social equity program that gives access to people and communities that have been historically impacted by arrests and imprisonment for cannabis offenses to participate in the legal cannabis industry. The group takes its name from the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 that laid the foundation for federal criminalization of marijuana, fueled by widespread racial discrimination against Mexican Americans and Black Americans. The federal act was eventually repealed in 1970.

How Are Dispensaries Preparing For Medical Marijuana In Kentucky In 2025? – Louisville Eccentric Observer (LEO Weekly)

Since Kentucky became the 38th state to legalize medical marijuana during the 2023 General Assembly, many companies have tried to make the most of the opportunity. Popular dispensaries like 502 Hemp Wellness Center (201 Moser Rd., Suite B) and One Love Hemp Dispensary (1906 Bardstown Rd.) currently do not have enough information to anticipate the sudden shift of legalization in the Commonwealth

Marijuana in Kentucky is vastly different from other states like Colorado or California. There are major restrictions on who can use weed in the Commonwealth.

Marijuana in Kentucky will not be allowed to be used recreationally for anyone in the state. Instead, Kentuckians will only have access to medical marijuana, which will only be used to treat patients with at least six medical conditions including cancer, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, chronic nausea, and post-traumatic stress disorder, with cardholders needing to be at least 18 years of age or the caretaker of an eligible child.

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services, which is in charge of the task of opening the doors to medical marijuana to dispensaries and patients alike, said the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program has filed 15 regulations so far,

Ohio’s Division of Cannabis proposes new rules for recreational marijuana dispensaries – 10TV

The Division of Cannabis Control said it is on track to issue its first licenses in June to facilities that are already set up for medical sales.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s anticipated rollout of recreational marijuana could happen as soon as this summer.

The Division of Cannabis Control has proposed a new set of rules that dispensaries would have to follow in the latest step toward issuing licenses.

The DCC said it is on track to issue its first licenses in June to facilities that are already set up for medical sales. It would issue a second set of licenses to non-medical facilities in September.

The new proposed rules include opening at least 500 feet from places like schools, public parks and churches, closing by 11 p.m. and other rules that concern security, visitor policies, financial responsibility and how dispensaries will dispose of waste.

Jeff McCourt, CEO of Firelands Scientific, which owns The Landing Dispensary in Columbus, is encouraged by the rule set.

“We are really excited to see how quickly and thoughtfully the Division of Cannabis Control is moving to implement what the voters approved in Issue 2,” McCourt
