Director of the Rapid City Attorney’s Office Joel Landeen said the extra time would allow owners more time for production before their license expires.
But with recreational marijuana failing in the recent election, is the ordinance banning alcohol at dispensaries still relevant?
Landeen said, “Sure, because there are still dispensaries. And actually, you know, we’ve had one request for an alcohol license at a medical dispensary. So it still would be relevant.”
The ordinance will have its final reading before the full council on Monday. If approved, it would go into effect 30 days after publication.
