Ravenna council repeals fees on medical marijuana dispensaries – Record-Courier

Ravenna City Council has repealed fees on medical marijuana dispensaries, as the city’s planning commission considers a proposal for the first dispensary in the city limits.

Council voted unanimously Monday to repeal an ordinance approved in 2018, which imposed the fees as Wellspring Fields started construction of its cultivation business in Ravenna Township.

The proposed Ravenna store, at 554 N. Chestnut St., would be the second medical marijuana dispensary in Portage County. A dispensary at 331 E. Main St. in Kent, which will be called Bliss Ohio, was approved by that city’s planning commission in August.

A public hearing on the Ravenna proposal will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 25.
