The Shinnecock Nation in Southampton, Long Island, held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for a forthcoming cannabis dispensary – a new venture for the nation.
For the project, the Shinnecock Nation partnered with TILT Holdings, a combination of cannabis companies offering products and services. TILT will provide management services to Shinnecock’s wholly owned cannabis business, Little Beach Harvest, and fund approximately $18 million to provide a fully vertical cannabis operation that will include the dispensary, a wellness center and a 60,000 sq. ft. cultivation, processing, extraction and packaging facility.
“This means a lot, what we’re going to do today,” said Chenae Bullock, managing director for Little Beach Harvest. “What we’re doing with this sacred plant is going to heal not only the Shinnecock community, but people around the world.”
“We’re giving this plant a voice again,” Bullock said.
