Staffing shortages cause Arlington marijuana dispensary to close early; need is still high – Wicked Local

Many industries are seeing disruptions to their normal workflow due to the recent wave of COVID cases spurred by the Omicron Variant. The cannabis industry is no different. On Jan. 9, Apothca Arlington, the town’s recreational and medical marijuana dispensary, was forced to close early due to staffing shortages.

Multiple staff members had tested positive for COVID, Apothca CEO Joseph Lekach said. Due to strict protocol, those staff members could not work before showing negative test results, causing a disruption to the normal schedule.

“This was more of one off, one day thing so far,” Lekach said. “There was a slight gap in the schedule and that’s why we had to close early. Thankfully it was just that once.”
