Stash to Open First Chicago-Area Cannabis Dispensary – Connect CRE

Stash, a company providing destinations for cannabis and entertainment in the Chicago area, plans to open its first Chicago-area location. Stash is set to open the initial location at a 10,000-square-foot location this month at a former Ace Hardware building at 9545 W. 167th St. in Orland Hills, reported the Chicago Business Journal.

The company also plans to open a second location in Peru and a 12,000-square-foot cannabis lounge at the Orland Hills site by the end of the year.

“We are also actively considering the northwest and southeast suburbs within the greater Chicago area as potential future locations,” Stash CEO Matthew Longo told the Journal. “These areas have been identified based on extensive market research and analysis.”

While Chicago will be Stash’s main market, the company plans to expand to other markets as well. Longo noted the area’s strong tourism industry as a major reason for Stash to be headquartered out of the city.
