BIG RAPIDS – The latest dispensary to open its doors in Big Rapids is aiming to create a youthful look with reasonable deals on products.
The Treehouse Club, the newest marijuana dispensary at 217 Maple Street in downtown Big Rapids, took over the space formerly housing the Wellflower which closed in November 2022.
The Treehouse Club was founded by Eastern Michigan University graduate Joseph Barakat and longtime friend Casey Shaughnessy, who helped inspire the business name and the goal of a community space.
Among several new dispensaries in the area to open this year including Fluresh, Timber Cannabis and Lucky’s, The Treehouse Club’s owners have put in an effort to stand out.
Barakat has been hard at work in the last few months remodeling and cultivating his ideal space, which now features couches and new wall art in the entryway, and hand-painted artwork in the back provisioning room.
Barakat said he was happy with the results of the remodel.
