Thirty pounds of marijuana and 500 THC vaping cartridges that cost up to an estimated $59,000 were stolen from a dispensary in Gorham, Maine on October 2021. Investigators told the Press Herald that they believe a group of burglars — that include two Boston Brothers and a New Bedford resident — were involved in the Maine robbery as well as a string of other New England dispensary robberies that date back to 2020.
Officials told the paper that the robbers have been cutting their way into dispensaries from Maine to Rhode Island. The outlet reported that the dispensaries are located in rural areas with few residents, making it easier for criminals to cut open a wall, undetected, in the middle of the night.
Since June 2021, the group has broken into seven different Maine dispensaries, authorities told the newspaper.
Police believe that two of the suspects are brothers from Boston’s South Shore area, according to the Press Herald.
