Two Corning cannabis dispensaries planned: Where they stand, timeline – Corning Leader

A recent city code recommendation will impact the plans of two proposed cannabis businesses in Corning.

The Corning City Code Committee recently recommended the City Council adopt a local law amendment matching the recently approved Office of Cannabis Management adult-use regulations.

“The local law fully implements the standards recently published by the Office of Cannabis Management,” said Corning City Mayor Bill Boland, who is also the chairman of the City Code Committee.

The City Council will consider establishing a public hearing on the law amendment Nov. 7, at the council’s monthly meeting, Boland said, and is expected to vote on it at the council’s December monthly meeting.

The council approving the adult-use regulations allows the city Planning Commission to determine plans to open Union Chill Cannabis Company at 34 W. Pulteney St., in the former Corning Leader building, and Green Rush, at 90 E. Market St., which formerly housed Wine & Design.
