The business, a social equity joint venture founded by Carl Tirella Jr. and Derrick Gibbs, is located at 1037 Boulevard, a 5,000 square foot property that formerly housed a Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts and Pizza Hut.
“As we prepare to open our doors in West Hartford, we feel a profound sense of anticipation and responsibility,” said Gibbs in a statement. “Budr is more than just a place to buy cannabis. It’s a space where community, social equity and education intertwine. We’re not just here to sell a product, but to help usher in a new understanding of cannabis and its potential.”
In a statement, business representatives said Budr isn’t just about selling cannabis products, but also about “social equity, community engagement and an elevated retail experience tailored to the needs of its customers.”
