New Jersey continues to see more independently owned cannabis dispensaries launching, with the latest opening in Bloomfield.

Located at 549 Bloomfield Ave., recreational dispensary Nightjar will begin welcoming customers Jan. 12 at 11 a.m., offering a 20% storewide discount during its grand opening weekend.


As part of the festivities, Matha Figaro, the founder and owner of legacy legal canna-bakery ButACake, will make the ceremonial first sale.

Belleville-based Cozz Coffee will also be at the shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. providing a complimentary espresso bar and coffee to customers.

A woman- and minority-owned venture, Nightjar’s goal is to normalize cannabis and reduce stigma about the plant by offering customers a hospitality-driven experience. Designed by cannabis industry veterans, the store features a diverse team of budtenders equipped to provide custom product recommendations, as well as address questions about Nightjar’s curated inventory.
