Payton Shubrick 6 Bricks Cannabis Dispensary Owner Interview – POPSUGAR

There are so many aspects of health that disproportionately affect the Black community, and yet less than six percent of US doctors are Black — a deficit that only further harms public health. Many of the Black folks who work in healthcare have dedicated their careers to combat inequities. That’s why, this Black History Month, PS is crowning our Black Health Heroes: physicians, sexologists, doulas, and more who are advocating for the Black community in their respective fields. Meet them all here.

Growing up in a dry household, the last thing Payton Shubrick — the owner of 6 Brick’s Cannabis Dispensary — thought she would be doing for a living was selling marijuana. “There was no drinking or smoking in my house, and I grew up with the mindset that if you smoked cannabis, a lot of bad things would happen to you,” Shubrick tells POPSUGAR. “Everyone I know who smoked was labeled as the bad kid or a troublemaker. My perception of the plant was extremely skewed.”

But then Shubrick, who has a degree in political science, began to see inequities in recreational marijuana use as it started becoming legal in certain states in the

Ohio regulators are soliciting stakeholder feedback on some proposed rules related to retail licensing under the adult-use marijuana program as well as some potential changes to aspects of the medical program that are primarily tied to fees and employees.

While these tentative rules are explained in some detail below, the full text of the proposed rules can be downloaded here.

Anyone looking to provide feedback on these rules can do so by emailing DCCRules@com.ohio.gov through Friday, Feb. 9.

These rules reinforce the expected timeline for issuing new adult-use dispensary licenses. That includes dual licenses for already licensed medical marijuana dispensaries as well as so-called 10(B) retail licenses, which are available to licensed cultivators and standalone dispensary operators with no common ownership with any other cultivators or processors.

Applications are slated to become available June 7 ahead of provisional licenses being issued by Sept. 7. Those dates were built into the marijuana statute approved by voters in November.

It is expected that already licensed medical marijuana dispensaries should have no issues securing dual-use licenses allowing them to serve the adult-use market as well.

Those companies must still go through the

Six months after legalization, marijuana is still not widely available in Minnesota – MPR News

Marijuana is legal in Minnesota, but that doesn’t mean it is widely available in all its forms. At least not yet.

While products derived from Delta 8 THC and CBD have been on the market in the state since 2022, recreational marijuana in its pure form has only been legal for the past six months. Minnesota’s Office of Cannabis Management is taking steps to make sure recreational dispensaries will be ready to open in 2025.

“A lot of progress has been made to both stand up the office and really get under way with rulemaking,” said Charlene Briner, interim director of the office, on Tuesday.

The office has contracted with Carahsoft, a technology company, to develop the state’s online application and licensing system for those looking to open dispensaries and other cannabis-based businesses.

Legacy Glassworks in Minneapolis sells seeds, as well as custom artist made pipe and bongs.

“We’ve also engaged in a contract with Cannabis Public Policy Consulting,” Briner added. “They are a national consulting firm that has worked with states and tribal nations and cities to set up cannabis regulatory operations.”

Danville’s newest dispensary to sell cannabis with a side of music – The News-Gazette

DANVILLE — Seven Point Danville cannabis dispensary CEO Brad Zerman will take advantage of the vinyl-record upswing when he opens his business this spring.

“We’re going to have new and re-released vinyl of all genres throughout the store,” Zerman said.

The vinyl will be displayed on the walls adjacent to the cannabis displays. In keeping with the music theme, concert videos will be streamed with music playing throughout the store.

Vinyl sales have continued to climb in the last decade and a half. In 2023, American consumers bought more than 49 million vinyl albums, a 14 percent increase from the year before.

Zerman said he believes consumers want vinyl because “there’s no comparison between the whole experience.”

“There’s no art or special lyrics that bands put on the cover” of CDs and other packaging, he said.

Seven Point — named because the leaves of many varieties of cannabis have seven points — will open April 20.

“That’s the international pot holiday,” Zerman said.

The store will also feature “fun, cool music art behind the counter you can look at.”

The store will mark Record Store Day on April 22. Turntables will also be for sale.

An adjacent cafe is planned for the future and will include food

Wilmington Dispensary and other shops now selling ‘legal’ thca flower – StarNewsOnline.com

Walk into the newly opened Wilmington Dispensary on Castle Street, and it’s easy to forget that marijuana is technically still illegal in North Carolina.

After you’re initially greeted by the pungent, tell-tale aroma, Wilmington Dispensary proprietor Ben Erichsen will gladly discuss the buying, and selling, of a product that’s increasingly common in Wilmington.

Behind him at the counter, a shelf contains more than a dozen glass jars filled with what Erichsen calls “flower.” It looks like marijuana. It smells like marijuana. And, Erichsen said, pointing to one strain, “It’s the real deal. It gets you high … It’s pretty strong, but as far as the government’s concerned it’s hemp.”

Let’s back up.

North Carolina is still one of 12 states where marijuana remains illegal for medical use or for any other purpose. Last year, however, the North Carolina General Assembly passed a law saying that products that contain no more than 0.3% of delta-9 THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, are classified as “hemp” and therefore legal.
