Medical marijuana dispensary proposed near Edgewater High School – News 13 Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orange County Board of Zoning Adjustment on Thursday morning will hear the case for a medical marijuana dispensary, a project 338 feet from Edgewater High School property.

What You Need To Know Medical marijuana dispensaries must be at least 500 feet from schools, under the county’s code
However, an applicant says the dispensary would be 338 feet from the school’s agricultural center, not the main campus
Some residents down the street from the property said they are indifferent or for the project, while other neighbors say they are against it

Under Orange County Code, dispensaries can’t be within 500 feet of a school, and some residents aren’t happy to hear about the idea.

Bobbie Marsden said she grew up in the home she currently resides. The neighborhood, she said, has always been quintessential and family-friendly.

“If one kid did something wrong, they would call your mom. I thought my mother was psychic,” said Marsden, laughing as she recalled memories.

Marsden was not happy to hear about the proposed medical marijuana dispensary down the street.

“Buy ’em somewhere else, not in this beautiful community. Please, not here,” said Marsden.

The applicant has

The raids are likely part of an ongoing crackdown that began last year.

A multiagency law enforcement group in New Mexico this week raided a pair of unlicensed dispensaries that are allegedly connected to an international crime ring, seizing more than $1 million in illicit cannabis goods.

After receiving a tip from the state Cannabis Control Division, the New Mexico State Police teamed up with the governor’s Organized Crime Commission and the state Tax Fraud Investigation Division, and executed search warrants at two dispensaries operating in Albuquerque, according to statements posted on social media.

Law enforcement agents raided two locations in Albuquerque, both doing business as The Cannabis Revolution Dispensary, one located at 806 Old Coors Rd, Suite D, and the other at 12999 Central Ave NE. Neither location is listed in the Cannabis Control Division’s online business database of licensed marijuana companies.

“The two dispensaries involved in this investigation are believed to have ties to international organized crime,” the New Mexico State Police said in a statement.

The raids are likely part of an ongoing crackdown that began last year in New Mexico, as the state grapples with both a flourishing legal marijuana trade and a growing illicit side of

NMSP: Dispensaries under investigation for alleged ties to international organized crime – KOB 4

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico State Police say a cannabis business that lost its license last year is reportedly believed to have ties to international organized crime.

State Police on Thursday assisted agents with the governor’s Organized Crime Commission to execute warrants at two Cannabis Revolution Dispensary locations in Albuquerque:

806 Old Coors Dr. S.W. Suite D12999 Central Ave. N.E.

The warrants reportedly turned up $1 million in unlicensed products. The commission is conducting an ongoing investigation into the business.

In October, regulators accused Golden Roots – doing business as the Cannabis Revolution Dispensary – of illegally obtaining cannabis from BioTrack and improperly transporting it. They were also accused of nine other reported violations.

Regulators ordered the business to stop all commercial activity and recall all of its cannabis products. They also revoked their license and ordered the business to pay $298,972.05 for money earned while allegedly possessing and distributing illegal products.

2024 Cannabis Industry Forecast: Product Brands, Retail, and Hemp

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, 2024 promises to be a year of significant change, from product development, to retail dynamics, as well as in the hemp/CBD market. Over the past few weeks we put out a call for commentary to our newsletter audience, asking industry professionals and business owners to share their expectations for the coming year. Below, we have rounded up some of the most insightful comments we received, forecasting what could lie ahead for these sectors.

A common theme among the predictions we reviewed was a belief that demand for product personalization and increased consumer awareness will have a significant impact on the market landscape, forcing cannabis brands, dispensaries, and hemp/CBD manufacturers alike to diversify their offerings. The broad consensus is that consumers are likely to care more about craft and high-quality products the more educated they become, meaning that over time it will be less advantageous for brands to focus on volume and market share alone. The potential for new AI technology to affect all aspects of the cannabis supply chain was also a recurring theme, as was the rising popularity of hemp and cannabis-infused beverages.
