NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Another local marijuana dispensary was approved Wednesday to open along Route 422.
Niles City Council voted to approve an adult-use marijuana dispensary to open in the city.
Council allowed the ordinance to move through all three readings and gave the people of Niles a chance to comment if they wished. The vote was unanimous and took only two weeks to pass.
Only one dispensary will be allowed — and it can only be placed along Niles commercial Route 422 corridor.
“It passed in every precinct last year during the election, so yeah, I think we represent the people and we expressed their choice today,” said Niles Councilman Jimmy Julian.
Niles Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz said he supported the council’s decision and said the city will keep an eye on the dispensary if and when one is opened.
