PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – The owner of a local dispensary, Alternative Solutions Dispensary in SE Portland is speaking out after his store was robbed while one of his employees was held at gunpoint.
On Tuesday around 8 PM, Portland Police say two armed men robbed Alternative Solutions on southeast Powell Blvd.
Surveillance video shows two men inside the dispensary with one holding a firearm at a staff member.
Two people were taken to a hospital after a crash in Washougal early Wednesday morning.
“One person came up and gave us an ID. And the other one was hiding behind the door and when the door opened, they rushed in,” says Donald Vanwormer, Dispensary owner.
Vanwormer says the thieves stole $20,000 of merchandise while a staff member was ‘pistol whipped’ and held down on the ground.
Vanwormer assures his employee is doing okay. He says he recognized one of the thieves in the video because he saw the thief walk by the store every night.
Vanwormer lives at the coast but now says he guards his store at night.
“I work at night for outside security for my staff so that they have somebody 7-14 days straight.”
