Cannabis could be coming to Hudson Falls from local entrepreneur Belinda McPhee of McPhee’s Candy Shop.

McPhee recently submitted a site plan to the Hudson Falls planning board for a re-branding of her “Candy Shop,” that would turn the store into a legal cannabis dispensary. The proposed name of the new store is “High Society Dispensary,” and would be in the same location of the candy shop, 345 Main Street, Hudson Falls, N.Y. Currently, the candy shop, sells candy, tobacco and CBD products.

In her application to the planning board, McPhee described the action as an “addition of partition walls so that the old candy shop can be used as a dispensary. All non-load bearing to create additional spaces inside. No outside changes.”

When asked why it was important to expand to cannabis, McPhee told The Post Start that is was so the distribution in the community would be safer.
