When Kentucky’s medical marijuana program goes online at the start of January, it will probably feel more like a soft launch than a full-court press.”The state has shared that they want to make sure the program is sustainable, which is why they’re limiting it tremendously in this first round,” said Sharmili Reddy, executive director of Planning and Development Services of Kenton County.Reddy said those limits mean there will be a maximum of 48 dispensaries spread out among all of Kentucky’s 120 counties.City councils statewide are now deciding whether or not they want to welcome cannabis companies.
