Cannabis shop-record store coming to Berkley will be ‘next greatest hit,’ CEO says – Oakland Press

Construction has started on a marijuana dispensary in Berkley that will sell vinyl record albums and turntables along with cannabis to its adult recreational and medical patient customers.

“Cannabis and music go hand-in-hand,” said Brad Zerman, CEO and co-founder of Seven Point, in a statement.

The dispensary is being built at 28557 Woodward Ave. near Wiltshire Road. Zerman estimates the 3,400-square-foot facility will open its doors sometime this summer.

Marijuana is expected to account for more than 80 percent of sales at Seven Point.

“But Berkley, Woodward and Royal Oak are great areas for records, too,” Zerman said.

The store will also use technology to educate customers about varieties of marijuana strain origins, effects, and the different forms in which it can be consumed.

With the revival of vinyl records in recent years, Zerman said Seven Point will be a new kind of dispensary where people can shop for records to enhance their “cannabis experience.”

“We will spare no effort in designing this store to deliver the look and vibes of a record store,” he said.

Vinyl and album art will be displayed on the walls next to cannabis displays.
