SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) — A local business is celebrating the holiday by handing out bracelets to veterans.

For the month of November, 6 Bricks Dispensary in Springfield is handing out bracelets to every veteran who enters to store as a way of thanking them for their service.

22News spoke with local veteran Philip Lafountaine, who also works at the 6 Bricks Dispensary on why they are running this campaign. “The trials and tribulations are that we go through, whether we’ve served overseas or just serving abroad, spending time away from family… There’s a lot of sacrifices that are made. We want to be able to give back in any way we can.”

6 Bricks is also running a donation campaign in partnership with Green Meadows Dispensary in Southbridge for local non-profits that support veterans.

Are Denver’s Low Dispensary Prices Worth a Road Trip? – Westword

Dear Stoner: I’m paying a lot of money for what seem like average dispensary products in Dillon. Are the prices and products in Denver worth driving down for the day to stock up?
Kiera

Dear Kiera: This a common theme among mountain and resort towns, and Dillon is a good example. The three dispensaries in Dillon have flower prices similar to those at most Denver stores, based on their menus, but edibles and hash prices are a few dollars higher in the mountains. Dispensary menus have become much more reasonable in the mountains, but you’ll always miss out on better sales and product selection because of the lack of competition. Whereas Dillon has just a few stores, around 200 different Denver dispensaries are vying for customer attention, with flash deals and product drops from craft brands.

Indicted owner of Chula Vista’s first pot shop must divest – The San Diego Union-Tribune

A Chula Vista cannabis licensee who was indicted earlier this year must divest himself of his interest in the dispensary or face closing the business, city officials have decided.

The decision comes months after Andres Camberos was accused by federal prosecutors of a long-running fraud unrelated to his Grasshopper Dispensary, the first legally licensed pot shop in Chula Vista.

Camberos’ sister, Adriana Camberos, also was named in the indictment, but she has no role in the marijuana business.

City Manager Maria Kachadoorian advised the ownership group, Vista Holding Co. LLC, that it would lose its license to operate Grasshopper Dispensary in Chula Vista if Camberos remains a partner in the company.

“Please be advised of the city’s intent to revoke the commercial cannabis license of Grasshopper, License No. CB22-001, if Mr. Camberos’s ownership interest in the business is not promptly divested,” Kachadoorian wrote.

The two-page letter dated Nov. 2 provides the company 60 days to file papers in response to the notice.

“Should the city not receive the required form by the deadline, the city will proceed with revocation of commercial cannabis license no. CB22-001,” the certified letter concludes.

The company has not yet formally responded to the city advisory.

But Vista Holding Co. attorney Lance Rogers

Panel recommends approval of first marijuana dispensary in … – Daily Herald

With a 4-2 recommendation of approval from the village’s development commission, the first proposal for a recreational marijuana dispensary in Hanover Park will go before the village board Dec. 21.

Inspire Cannabis is seeking a special-use permit to occupy the 9,600-square-foot former site of Empire Beauty School at 1166 E. Lake St. The space is in the Greenbrook Plaza shopping center anchored by the Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets under renovation.

Shubhra Govind, the village’s director of community and economic development, said the proposal meets code requirements for a marijuana dispensary, including a minimum 500-foot distance from sensitive uses, being the sole use of the unit, and having no drive-through and or on-site consumption.

The development commission made its recommendation at a public hearing Thursday night during which members asked the applicant several questions, Govind said.

Residents also weighed in.

“In addition to the applicant’s presentation, there were several people who provided comments during the public hearing, a majority being in support,” Govind said.

Consideration of final approval is scheduled for the village board meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at village hall, 2121 W. Lake St., officials said.

Weed business blooms at The Flower Shop | Business … – The Mesa Tribune

Just off of the I-10 freeway on Elliot Road on a county island in Ahwatukee, a 16,000-square-foot, two-story building houses the community’s only cannabis dispensary, The Flower Shop.

But it’s much more than that: Beyond the well-lit, attractive showroom floor, it also contains a manufacturing facility that is akin to the weed version of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, churning out tens of thousands of gummies, mints, tablets, vape cartridges, pre-rolled joints and more each day for its various brands.

The Flower Shop has locations in Mesa and Phoenix as well as Ogden and Logan, Utah. It employs 54 at its Ahwatukee dispensary and manufacturing hub and 175 statewide.

Greta Brandt, The Flower Shop’s president and a minority owner, showed a handful of media representatives around the premises last month to explain the business and what it does.

The tour started in the 2,500-square-foot retail space, which has an open floor plan and colorful, eye-catching displays that change quarterly.

“The intent of the design is to destigmatize,” Brandt said. “My intent is to bring more people into cannabis.”

It’s definitely luring in Ahwatukee cannabis users, with nearly 12,000 customers from the community in its loyalty program, which offers discounts, special events
