Fargo Man Wanted for Operating Illegal Dispensary, Warrant Issued – Lakes Area Radio

FARGO, N.D. – A warrant has been issued for 29-year-old Robert Lee Beretta of Fargo for allegedly operating an illegal dispensary. Beretta faces felony charges of leading a criminal association and conspiracy to possess with intent to manufacture/deliver marijuana. The investigation, ongoing for nearly 10 months, stems from a search warrant served on June 27, 2023, at 5171 51st Ave S #103 in Fargo. During the search, 31-year-old Dylan Beckman and 24-year-old Evan Lanigan were found inside the shop, where authorities discovered large quantities of marijuana and THC products. Lanigan admitted to selling marijuana from the shop, while Beckman stated he was paid to answer questions about the products. Beckman also allegedly revealed that Beretta, who owns a tax service business called Northern Star Taxes, was involved in laundering money from the illegal operation. A subsequent search at Northern Star Taxes on July 13, 2023, uncovered additional THC products. Beckman was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana, but the charge was later dismissed. Lanigan accepted a plea deal in January 2024, receiving unsupervised probation and community service. This warrant marks Beretta’s first criminal offense in North Dakota, according to court records.
