First recreational marijuana dispensaries in Greater Cincinnati are one step closer to opening – WLWT Cincinnati

Ohio’s Division of Cannabis Control awarded dozens of their first recreational licenses to existing medical marijuana dispensaries this week.Four of them are in Greater Cincinnati. In Hamilton County, Sunnyside in Columbia Township and The Landing in Norwood now have been granted provisional licenses to sell recreational marijuana. And in Clermont County, The Forest in Mount Carmel and Beyond Hello in Summerside also now have provisional licenses. However, the dispensaries cannot open their doors to recreational customers yet without still meeting a few more requirements.Just some of the things they still must do include notifying local officials about the business, training employees, and ensuring their security equipment meets state requirements. Dispensaries must also undergo a test to ensure that products meet state law for contaminants, potency, and product homogeneity. All four stores currently regularly sell marijuana products to customers with medical marijuana cards. There is no exact date set yet for when these stores will be permitted to sell to recreational customers. However, state officials have been pushing to have the first shops opened before the end of the year.
